There are no regular flights from other major cities of the country to Ghaziabad. Nearest airport is Indira Gandhi International Airport at New Delhi. Ghaziabad is around 45 KM away from Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi.

The first set of flights from Hindon, Ghaziabad under “Ude desk ka aam nagrik” (UDAN)-II RCS scheme,
will include the routes undertaken by low cost carriers, including Lucknow-Hindon-Kolkata-Jorhat,
Hindon-Bhopal-Ozar (Nashik), Hindon-Jaisalmer-Udaipur, Hindon-Gorakhpur-Allahabad,
Hindon-Allahabad-Kolkata, Hindon-Kannur, Ozar (Nashik)-Hindon etc.

AAI has constructed a civil terminal at Hindon at a cost of Rs 45.2 crore. The terminal building is built in an area of 3,500 square metres and
is air-conditioned, with pre-fabricated structure and not a porta-cabin.
The inaugaration of Hindon Air Base was done on 08/03/2019 by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India.

By Rail

The station of the city is named as GHAZIABAD and its station code is GZB. The station is well-connected to a number of Indian cities. Some of the major routes include to the places of Kanpur Central, Allahabad Jn, and New Delhi. There are 74 weekly trains connecting Kanpur Central to Ghaziabad, 6 weekly trains connecting Allahabad Jn to Ghaziabad, and 16 weekly trains connecting New Delhi to Ghaziabad.

Ghaziabad has its own railway junction which has several lines that passes through the city. The main railway station is located in the middle of the city. The city is well linked with Delhi and other neighboring cities through fast moving local trains called EMU’s. There are numerous trains that connect Ghaziabad with major parts of the country including Meerut, Aligarh, Delhi, New Delhi, Faridabad, Palwal, Mathura, Allahabad, Indore, Ujjain, Loni and others.

Ghaziabad Metro

The plan to build the Ghaziabad Metro was conceived in 2014, when the GDA and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation
(DMRC) signed an agreement for the new infrastructure development. The route is covered under Phase-III expansion
of the Delhi Metro and have following stoppages:

1. Dilshad Garden
2. Shahid Nagar
3. Rajbagh
4. Shyam Park
5. Mohan Nagar
6. Arthala
7. New Bus Adda

This route is of 9.4-km on which the trial run and all other formalities have been completed.
The inauguration of this Metro route was done by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India on 08/03/2019.

By Road

By road, Ghaziabad is well linked from all sides to other major cities that include Delhi, Noida, Hapur, Modinagar, Bulandshahr, Meerut, Saharanpur, Haridwar, Dehradun, Mathura, Vrindavan, Agra. Travelers from Ghaziabad can easily commute to Delhi (22 km), Vrindavan (159 km), Mathura (165 km), Haridwar (187 km), Rishikesh (204 km), Agra (204 Km), Dehradun (221 km).

Ghaziabad Hindon Elevated Road

The Ghaziabad elevated road’s construction began in November 2014. It will connect UP Gate on the
Delhi-Ghaziabad with Raj Nagar Extension in the Uttar Pradesh city, drastically cutting travel time and enhancing
commuting comfort.
Some highlights are as follows :

1. The Ghaziabad elevated road is connect commuters from the National Highway-24 (NH-24) directly to Raj Nagar Extension
   and towards Meerut, providing major relief to the commuters travelling to Meerut.
2. It is estimated that around 4,000 vehicles ply on the elevated road every hour.
3. The cost of the Ghaziabad elevated road project is Rs. 1,147 crore.
4. The Hindon elevated road project is India’s longest elevated road at a length of 10.5 kilometres on 227 single pillars.
