Modinagar

Modinagar is ahead of Muradnagar on the road leading to Meerut from Ghaziabad. Earlier, a village of 573 acres was called Begmadabad, which was built by Nawab Zafar Ali. But he named it Begumabad in order to honor the Royal Begum of Delhi. By 1945 Modinagar was a town area but in 1963 it was made notified area. Now Modinagar is a tehsil. A temple built by Queen Valabai Scindia in the 19th century is still here.

The current Modinagar was established in 1933 by industrialist Gujarmal Modi. Then its name was changed to Modinagar. Lakshmi-Narayana Temple, Modi Garden, Sheetla Devi Mandir, Modi Bhawan are very special for tourists attractions.

Loni

Tehsil Loni’s history is very ancient. Mythological belief is that it was the site of hunting of King Lavanasur of Mathura. He had a fort here. The enemy had killed Lavanasur right here. There was a strong fort here in the Hindu era. The fort of King Subakaran was also here, in 1789 AD Mohammed Shah thwarted it.

Iltutmish attacked and captured the power of the Hindu kings from here. According to the documents of history, Sultan Nasiruddin Mahmud’s upbringing was still there. Sultan was the grandson of Nasiruddin Iltutmis

Dasna

Dasna is situated on the banks of road going to Ghaziabad. According to the District Gazetteer, Dasna was constructed by the Rajput king named Salarasi, who had settled during the reign of Muhammad Ghazni. The king went to Garhmukteshwar to take bath in the Ganges to relieve his leprosy. He benefited from bathing in the Ganges, he settled in Dasna and stayed here. Here he built the fort. When the foundation of this fort was laid, a man of the king took a snake. The name of the village was kept in memory of him.Ahmad Shah Abdali attacked this village in 1760 and crushed this fort. There is an ancient goddess temple here. During the Revolution of 1857, the British had built a hanging house to hang the patriots here.
