Rapid Maize Development Program (R.M.D.P.)

Rapid Maize Development Program (R.M.D.P.): This scheme is being implemented to promote maize cultivation in order to replace paddy cultivation in fallow and barren land, as well as to encourage farmers for additional income.

For advanced technology demonstrations, a subsidy of Rs. 2400 per acre is admissible for the demonstration of local maize/hybrid maize/popcorn maize, Rs. 16,000 per acre for baby corn maize, and Rs. 20,000 per acre for sweet corn maize. For hybrid seed distribution, a subsidy of Rs. 15,000 per quintal or 50% of the cost, whichever is less, is admissible. For a 5-day farmers’ study tour, an incentive amount of Rs. 1000 per person per day is admissible, and for a tour within the state, Rs. 500 per person per day is admissible.
